Butt welding machine is also called current welding machine or resistance touch welding machine
Butt welding machine is also called electric welding machine or resistance touch welding machine. By using the resistance between the contact surfaces of two workpieces, the low voltage and high current can be passed instantaneously, so that the contact surfaces of two mutually connected metals can be heated instantaneously until they are melted and fused.
Butt welding machines are classified according to different welding methods: flash butt welding machine, steel bar butt welding machine, copper rod butt welding machine
Flash butt welding mainly uses the heat generated by the contact resistance of the workpiece to heat the workpiece. The metal surface melts, the temperature gradient is large, and the heat affected zone is relatively small.
The weld is formed under the condition of plastic deformation of the solid metal opposite the workpiece. The structure and composition of the weld are close to the base metal (or after heat treatment), so it is easier to obtain equal strength and equal plastic welded joints.
The flash process has the self-protection function of exhausting air and reducing metal oxidation. The upset forging can also discharge the oxide out of the weld with the liquid metal. There are few defects such as weld inclusion and incomplete penetration.
The flash process has strong self-adjusting function, low requirements for strict consistency of specifications, and stable welding quality. Small electric power is required for unit welding sectional area, and only (0.1-0.3) KVA/mm2 electric power is required for welding low carbon steel.
High welding productivity, welding a joint only takes a few seconds to dozens of seconds.
