  • How to Use and Operate a MIG Welder

How to Use and Operate a MIG Welder

    01 Feb 2021

First thing you need to purchase a MIG welder and the proper gear. My first suggestion is to practice with your new MIG welder on some scraps of metal lying around. While MIG welding is probably one of the easiest types of welding to learn, you still need to practice before you use it on your favorite project. Also, always purchase the right safety gear. A welding helmet should be the first item on your list. I would recommend an auto darkening welding helmet that is battery operated. This will free up an extra hand and just make life easier on you. But get a proper welding helmet! You will need the proper clothing and gloves as well. You basically want to cover up your entire body. MIG welders do throw off sparks and can burn you. Welding is not an activity to be done in shorts and a pair of flip flops. Next pick a suitable location to begin welding. A large concrete slab like your driveway is a good choice. Remember there is a fire hazard with these welders. They throw of sparks and ...

  • Some Points to Remember Before Selecting the Welder

Some Points to Remember Before Selecting the Welder

    25 Jan 2021

Welders are used when there is shortage in electric power supply. Various types of welders are used. Engine-driven welders are very popular of the genre. This type of systems is used for outdoor applications. But engine-driven welders are designed in such a way so that it can be used for indoor applications. At times when there is problem in supplying power to electric (plug-in) welders, this type of technology is used. These indoor circumstances include everything from major plant shutdowns to minor repair jobs. It is better to use the engine-driven welders in a large space that has good ventilation. There are some basic things that need to be taken into considerations while selecting an engine-driven welder. These include: 1. Application- First of all you have to consider this factor. You have to define the application and then select the welding process. 2. Engine Type - It is one of the most important issues that you need to look at after defining the application. Before you take a...

The Impact of Welding Tools in the Industry

    18 Jan 2021

Welding is the process of joining the metals. Manufacturing industries mostly depend upon welding process. Olden day's welding is the tough task and the same welding process is used for different metals. Due to the technological innovation many welding tools and techniques came into the market which provides you the best performance. You can see the famous American statue is also made by welding process.   Welding tools are the back bone of the modern industry:   When you decided to start an industry you should concentrate on the products which is required the products should be modernized and a quality one. The most important tool of welding is welder and welding equipments. Welding equipments such as arc tig plasma cutters and accessories such as welder gloves helmets are the most important tools for the Welding industry.   Investment techniques in welding tools:   While buying the welding tools many factors should be considered such as its purpose (ie) where you ...

What are the main advantages of the butt welder

    11 Jan 2021

Butt welding machine is also called current welding machine or resistance welding machine. Using the resistance between the contact surfaces of the two workpieces, a low voltage and large current is passed instantaneously to heat the contact surfaces of the two interface metals and instantly melt and fuse. Butt welding machine can be divided into flash butt welding machine, steel butt welding machine and copper rod butt welding machine according to different welding methods. Flash butt welding mainly uses the contact resistance of the workpiece to generate heat to heat the workpiece. The metal surface melts, the temperature gradient is large, and the heat affected zone is relatively small. The welded joint is formed under plastic deformation of the solid metal opposite to the workpiece. The structure and composition of the weld are close to the base metal (or after heat treatment), so it is easier to obtain equal strength plastic welded joints. The flash evaporation process has the eff...

  • Learn How To Weld

    Learn How To Weld

    04 Jan 2021

Welding is a complex subject, and this article is far from being comprehensive on any aspect of it. However, one thing that it attempts to cover is a few absolutely necessary requirements and a number of basic beginner mistakes that one can easily avoid. As a quick introduction, the most frequently used and easiest-accessible welding processes are arc welding/gas welding (including tig welding and mig welding). Arc welding describes welding processes that use a welding power supply to create an electric arc between an electrode and the base material to melt the metals at the welding point. They can use either direct (DC) or alternating (AC) current, and consumable or non-consumable electrodes. The welding region is sometimes protected by a kind of inert or semi-inert gas, known as a shielding gas, and/or filler material. Arc welding is widely used because of its low capital and running costs. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (gas tungsten arc) welding are kinds of gas metal arc welding. D...

Do you know the history of welding and manufacturing

    28 Dec 2020

Today, when we use different complex welding tools, we need to understand the history of welding. We need to look back and see when to start welding. To know this, we need to go back to the Iron Age. At that time, the Egyptians and the Eastern Mediterranean began the welding process. They like to use this process to perfect the process of welding iron sheets into iron boxes. The hammer had not yet been invented. Hammers appeared in the late Middle Ages and were used to make other kinds of small iron products. They used to heat up until they got hot. When Edmund Davy discovered acetylene in the 1830s, the process became older, and welding with acetylene became much easier. It helps to identify the arc between two electrodes. The invention of arc lighting has made new improvements to the traditional welding process. In the traditional welding process, cutting and gas welding have become much easier than the previous welding. At that time, welding had become a popular joining process. Alm...
